Tour Engine, Inc. (TEI) is seeking candidates for the position of Combustion Development Engineer at its San Diego, CA headquarters. The successful candidate will work on the combustion development for TEI’s innovative split-cycle internal combustion engine. Responsibilities include working in TEI’s state-of-the-art engine test cell directing and over-seeing specific tests as well as conducting post-test data analysis and simulation. A BSME is required and an MS is desirable.
Experience in mechanical engineering work with an emphasis on combustion engines, thermodynamics and combustion chemistry is required. At least two years of combustion development in an engine or university laboratory is required. Experience with design of experiments and numerical simulation (e.g. Converge, KIVA, STAR-CD) as well as familiarity with emissions regulations is highly desirable. Project management experience is considered a plus.
It is assumed that the candidate is familiar with the principles and operation of a state-of-the-art engine test cell and related equipment (including emissions gas analyzers, dynamometer, ignition and fuel systems and data acquisition system) and is able to interpret and correlate the measurement results relative to engine and emissions performance.
